The 12 Core Principles Explained

Proactive – This is one of the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People and one that I have seen in my life work effectively. I know you can’t sit around and wait for things to come to you; you need to proactively look for the opportunities to come your way. I have been told many times that when the student is prepared the teacher appears. This is why I am proactive.

Passionate – I have read many biographies of successful people and have found that this one core principle is consistent across every spectrum that they are involved in. Whether it’s the best under water basket weaver or best free throw shooter. Every person that has a passion drives them to the successes they choose and develops their goals to become standards.

Creator – I feel that my limits are controlled only by my mind. When I have the opportunity to work out a problem or listen to a solution that someone found it allows me to continually build on my thought process. I create my own destiny and outcome. If my mind can believe I can achieve.

Integrity – Trust is something that should never be given but earned. In business as in life you are only as good as your last performance. You must uphold that performance and be consistent in life. Trust is developed from these consistencies where further relationships are formed.

Motivator – I love to coach and motivate others to become better than they are today. My favorite videos are the one on inspiration and motivation. Everyone has a story and I love to motivate that out of them to get the inspirational juices flowing for them to develop a relationship with myself and themselves.

Solver – Making a decision is one of the most difficult things to do in business and in life. Should I take this job, this major, this spouse or this cheeseburger? But when you can get into the solution based analysis of asking good questions and you will tend to find that there are solutions in all of us.

Value – I seek after things that are sustainable. We are always in times of the quick buck or I need it now. I seek after things that offer value in my life like relationships. I am not where I am at in life if not for the valued relationships with my friends, my spouse, my family and my creator.

Courage – I believe in myself. I have traveled this country and came here with little. Life is full of choices and I feel that you need to have the self confidence to have the courage to make the decisions that can affect your life. Whether its picking up that phone to make that call or talking to someone you have no idea who they are. Every encounter starts with someone having the courage to say, hello.

Gratitude – I am always grateful for the influences in my life and those that have paved the way before me. I have always had a notion that things could always be worse hence I am grateful for what I have. I know for a fact that I never get anywhere on my own as it’s always a team effort.

Learner – Education is something that can never be taken away from you. I value education now that I am on my own and can see how those that value education and continuous learner are those that aren’t struggling in life and have things come more frequently to them. Knowledge is power and power is knowledge.

Leader – There is a lack of leadership in the world. Whether it be in politics, business, sports or in the home. We need to follow someone and to have someone point us in the right direction. It’s a strong core principle of mine because it requires action and decision making. What is popular is not always right, and what is right is not always popular.

Engage – I feel that being engaged is a principle that allows me to develop my self worth and relationship with others. I enjoy the interaction with others and being the catalyst to start up a conversation. People want a feeling of belonging and being engaged in the moment with someone can win their trust and respect which everyone wants.
